Repentance – Extra Renew : Your Destiny In Marital Devotion
Repentance isn’t just about preparing for eternity; it’s about restoring God’s divine order, starting with the heart of every home: marriage.

Repentance and marriage
In a world that feels like it’s racing toward uncertainty, many people are convinced we might be living in the end times. Regardless of whether that’s true, one thing is crystal clear: the call to repentance is urgent. This isn’t just about preparing for eternity; it’s about restoring God’s divine order, starting with the heart of every home: marriage.
At the core of the Christian faith is salvation through Jesus Christ. It’s not just a ticket to heaven, but the start of a new life filled with love, service, and purpose. The Bible tells us, “All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God” (Romans 3:23). This applies to husbands, wives, and families alike. Without Christ, even the most beautiful marriages can struggle. But with Him, there’s hope for restoration, healing, and divine alignment.
Salvation isn’t something we earn; it’s a precious gift from God (Ephesians 2:8–9). When we repent and put our faith in Jesus, we’re not just dodging hell; we’re welcoming heaven into our lives and our marriages. We confess, surrender, and are filled with the Holy Spirit, who empowers us to love like Christ selflessly, sacrificially, and unconditionally.
Repentance changes life and establishes harmony
Repentance is not just a term for revival meetings; it’s the secret ingredient for a thriving marriage. It means turning away from selfishness, pride, and hidden sins, and turning back to God and to each other. Marriages can fall apart when repentance is overlooked. But when husbands and wives come before God in humility, forgiveness flows, healing starts, and unity is restored.
Too often, couples wait until things are in shambles before they seek change. But why wait? The Bible warns us: “The day of the Lord will come like a thief in the night” (1 Thessalonians 5:2). Whether the end is near or far, now is the time to be ready, both as individuals and as the one-flesh unions that God created. When we embrace Christ, the Holy Spirit takes up residence in our hearts, not just to save us, but to change us from the inside out. In the context of marriage, this transformation manifests in beautiful ways:
A husband cherishing his wife just as Christ loves the Church (Ephesians 5:25), a wife respecting her , husband as if she were honoring the Lord (Ephesians 5:22), both partners submitting to each other out of reverence for Christ (Ephesians 5:21).
The fruits of the Holy Spirit such as love, joy, peace, patience, kindness (Galatians 5:22–23) become evident in how we communicate, serve, forgive, and care for one another. Holly Spirit filled marriages may not be flawless, but they certainly shine brightly in a world that often feels dark. They become a living testament to the gospel.
Salvation Is Not Just About Eternity; It is About the Here and Now
Many people view salvation merely as a way to escape hell. However, it’s so much more—it’s an invitation to experience abundant life (John 10:10) in the present moment. For marriages, this means finding peace during conflicts, joy in everyday routines, and purpose even amid challenges.
Repentance changes us and the first place we see that change is at home. If we want to make a difference in the world, we need to start by allowing Christ to transform our marriages. When Christ is at the center, bitterness gives way to grace, resentment turns into reconciliation, and chaos is replaced by peace.
The gospel isn’t just preached from the pulpit. It’s lived out in our living rooms, kitchens, and the quiet moments of prayer between spouses. One of the most impactful ways to share our faith is through a Spirit-led marriage. When children observe their parents loving each other well, and when neighbors see patience instead of pride, they witness Jesus Christ in action. Marriage serves as a launchpad for discipleship, a space where we practice what we preach: forgiveness, humility, perseverance, and unconditional love.
The Time Is Short, Live with Purpose
The world is becoming increasingly dark. Distractions are everywhere, and many hearts are growing cold. Yet, God is still calling us. He’s inviting husbands and wives to return to Him and to each other.
The message of salvation goes beyond just the promise of heaven. It’s also about building marriages on the foundation of Christ, ensuring they stand strong both now and for eternity. As the Bible reminds us, “Make the most of every opportunity, because the days are evil” (Ephesians 5:16). The moment to repent is now. The moment to forgive is now. The moment to transform your marriage into a ministry is now.
A Final Word: Turn, Trust, Transform
Did you surrender to Christ? Today is the day. Invite Him into your heart and your marriage. Own up to your mistakes. Seek His forgiveness. Allow the Holy Spirit to start a new work within you. Make your home a sanctuary for God’s presence.
Even if you’re already a believer but find your marriage in turmoil, don’t lose hope. God is in the business of resurrection. Reach out to Him, repent. forgive, rebuild. The cross of Christ is wide and strong enough to embrace every broken heart, every shattered dream, and every distant spouse.
Your marriage isn’t just a relationship. It is a reflection of the gospel. Let that reflection shine bright, bold, and beautiful. Now is the time to return. Now is the time to shine. “As for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.” Joshua 24:15.
